The Happymodel 2.4GHz ELRS Nano Series Receivers: EP1 and EP2

The Happymodel 2.4GHz ELRS nano series receivers are open-source products based on the ExpressLRS platform. This lineup includes three types of receiver modules: PP RX, EP1, and EP2.

The PP RX was designed by @Jye Smith from the ExpressLRS development team. Its main hardware architecture consists of an STM32L432KBU6 MCU and an SX1280 RF chip. It features a built-in ceramic antenna, making it incredibly lightweight and compact.

Building upon the PP RX, Happymodel has developed the Nano 2.4GHz receivers, EP1 and EP2, which utilize the ESP8285 MCU. The RF module in these receivers is the same as the PP RX, ensuring seamless compatibility.

EP2_RX Specifications: - Type: ISM ESP8285 MCU, SX1280IMLTRT RF Module, SMD Ceramic antenna - Frequency Range: 2400 MHz to 2500 MHz - Maximum receive refresh rate: 500Hz - Minimum receiver refresh rate: 25Hz - Working voltage: 5V - Weight: 0.44 grams - Dimension: 10mm x 10mm x 6mm - Peak gain: 3.7dB

Binding Procedure: 1. Power on the PP/EP1/EP2 RX and wait until the LED is off. Turn off the power and repeat this step. 2. On the third power-on, the LED will start double-flashing, indicating the RX has entered binding mode. 3. Insert the ES24TX module or another 2.4GHz ELRS TX into the radio transmitter, select External RF mode with the CRSF protocol, and access the ELRS menu (first copying the ELRS.LUA file to the SD-card tools). 4. Press [Bind] in the ELRS menu, and the RX LED will become solid if the binding is successful.

Receiver LED Status Indicators: - Solid LED: Bind successful or connection established - Double-flashing LED: Binding mode - Slow flashing LED: No signal connection from the TX module - Fast flashing LED: WIFI hotspot mode, allowing firmware upgrades by connecting to 10.0.0.1 (password: expresslrs)

The Nano 2.4GHz rx modules offer several advantages, including low latency, high refresh rates, and an ultra-lightweight, compact design, making them ideal for FPV racing, long-range FPV, and tiny whoop applications.
